I'm really happy to let you all know that we ll be keeping the first TROPICALIZER PARTY at the Loft Café, Saturday February 13.

For this first edition we bringing to you TÊTE DE TIGRE & ADSL D'AMOUR and of course me aka CHUKKS.

Our mission will consist in taking you in a far far land full of colorful animals and misterious tropical-house sounds... Be there!

WEEK END IS COMING

So I thought it would be a good idea to introduce to you VAMPIRE WEEKEND, if you don't know them yet.

VAMPIRE WEEKEND is a New Yorker band formed in 2006, they're doing a sort of soft Indie Punk Rock mixed up with Africans sounds, the result is pretty fresh and perfect to chill by the beach (can't wait for this summer). Their first opus came out in 2008 and they just released a new one, called Contra, few weeks ago.

Here is one of the song I like on their first album, It's called Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa, and I wasn't surprised to discover that THE VERY BEST remixed it.

TROPICALIZER VOL. 1

When I opened Tropicalizer, I had the idea to come up with a serie of mixes for you, dear blogger and bloggettes.

For the first volume, I decided to go deep in the New House, Less Is More style, keeping a little tropical touch of course...
I'm totaly down with this kind of hypnotic sounds blended with typical Afro or Latino samples, I really believe that this style of electronic music is the bridge between our culture and the third world musics...

Well, done with the philosophical shit... hope you like it and stay tuned for the upcoming TROPICALIZER MIXES.

More seriously this track was produced by Emynd a producer from Philly who decided to teamed up with Roundhead who probably is the biggest weed smoker from Jamaica and the result is called "THE MOST HIGH EP"
